Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams will have surgery on both ankles next week.
According to the Nets’ ankle and foot doctor, Dr. Martin O’Malley, Williams will have an arthroscopic procedure on Tuesday May 27.
He missed 18 games due to injury this season. Of those 18 games, 16 of those were missed because of a sprained left ankle. “He will have a bone chip removed from his right ankle, and the left ankle will have an arthroscopic cleanout with removal of spurs from both the front and back of the ankle,” said Dr. O’Malley.
Williams played in 64 games for Brooklyn this season.this season. He posted 14.3 points, 6.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.45 steals in 32.2 minutes per game.
He is expected to make a full recovery.
