Watch out now!
Oklahoma City Thunder big man Serge Ibaka’s playing status has been elevated in the NBA Playoffs.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, Okalahoma City Thunder big man Serge Ibaka’s calf strain has made significant progress and the Thunder have elevated him to day-to-day. As a result, the Thunder unofficially announced that there’s a chance he could play in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday in OKC.
The Oklahoma City Thunder had previously ruled out Ibaka for the remainder of the postseason.
With the San Antonio Spurs currently holding a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals, they could use the help. Ibaka’s absence has been missed with the Thunder’s lacking a body to replace him. His absence has allowed Spurs big man, Tim Duncan to pretty much get any shot he wants in paint.
On the offensive side of the basketball, Ibaka’s ability to stretch the floor outside of the paint and on the perimeter is a glaring hole for Head Coach Scott Brook’s OKC Thunder. Nick Collison has started in place of him, but can’t make up for the lack of the NBA All Star.
