Elliot Rodger, 22 is a suspect of a horrible incident that occurred Friday near the University Of California, Santa Barbara in Isla Vista, California. The student recorded a very chilling and rather disturbing video promising retribution and revenge, then uploaded it to YouTube just hours before what county sheriff Bill Brown is referring to as a planned mass murder. Although police haven’t confirmed if Rodger was the gunman or whether he posted the video. Authorities list him as a suspect because of the multiple times he was treated by different therapist, and the gunfire that he was involved in with the police right before he crashed his own car. He was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. It’s still unclear if police shot him or if the wound was self-inflicted. Six other people were killed and another seven people were injured in the shooting. The University of California, Santa Barbara, released a statement Saturday morning addressing the shooting.
“Our campus community is shocked and saddened by the events that occurred last night in the nearby community of Isla Vista,” read the statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families who are grieving and mourning as a result of this tragedy.”
