San Antonio Spurs v Oklahoma City Thunder - Game Six

The San Antonio did something everyone thought  was impossible. They returned to the NBA Finals.

The Spurs beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 12-107 in overtime Saturday night in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals to avenge last years lost to the Miami Heat.  The Spurs will start the best of 7 series against the Heat on Thursday where they will host the first game. A year ago the Spurs led the series 3-2 until they lost game 6 in overtime and eventually losing game 7 to eventual champions the Heat.

After the game Tim Duncan spoke about the  doubt about the Spurs reaching the Finals again.”People keep talking like we weren’t close to winning, but we were ready to win last year,” he said in the press conference. “We’re happy it’s the Heat again. We’ve got that bad taste in our mouths still.”

With Tony Parker missing the entire second half and overtime with a left ankle soreness. Parker has suffered with a sore ankle since game 4 of the series, despite the all-star having injury issues the team overcame the issue as they have done thru out the Popovich era and beat the Thunder with teamwork.

The rematch between the Heat and Spurs will be the first the NBA has seen a finals rematch since 1998 when the Bulls took on the Jazz in the finals in back to back seasons. The rematch between both teams have sparked interest in both the public and NBA analysts which has a chance to become a classic series like the Bulls vs Jazz back to back finals appearances. At the moment the Spurs, are favorites in-game 1 according to Vegas.
