David Alan Grier hit VHI’s office, where he decided to perform some poetry for the camera. However, instead of the usual heartfelt pieces poets normally recite, Grier took a slightly twisted and hilarious interpretation on the concept. Taking some of the legendary words of one of this generations biggest musical stars and polarizing celebrities, the comedian read Kanye West’s tweets as spoken word.

While there were moments that left him totally confused, like the “glass half empty” bit, for the most part he understood where West was coming from. Seeing Grier’s face twist as he attempts to force himself to understand the Jimmy Kimmel  beef was quite entertaining. Check out the video above and start your day with a quick laugh.
