Say it ain’t so!
Bob OdenkirkAs we all continue to mourn the end of the Breaking Bad series and speculate on its return, fans of the series are equally anxious about the hit series’ upcoming spinoff Better Call Saul. Thus far, not a great deal of info has been provided about the show besides the fact that it will revolve around the shady but resourceful lawyer, Saul Goodman who was played by Bob OdenkirkJonathan Banks who plays ‘Mike’ the Breaking Bad’s “clean up guy” will be a series regular, and that Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston may reprise their roles in cameos for the new series. Now, we’ve finally received an update from the mastermind behind Better Call Saul and well, it’s not as promising as we’d hoped.

Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad spoke to The Hollywood Reporter casting a few doubts about the upcoming show:

If it’s After M*A*SH [the highly unsuccessful spinoff of M*A*S*H] rather than Frasier [a highly successful spinoff of Cheers], it won’t be for lack of hard work and wishful thinking and a lot of smart people doing their best, but you just don’t know until the world takes it. … I am worried that … it may turn out that this was a mistake to do this.

Perhaps Gilligan is just suffering from anxiety from working on a new series less than a year after putting the  last nail in the biggest project of his career, or perhaps he’s is genuinely having second thoughts about whether he can catch lightening in a bottle for second time. In this case we hope for the former.

Filming for Better Call Saul began Monday in Albuquerque, New Mexico (of course) and a photograph of the set as well as the script for the pilot episode as surfaced, so we can only anticipate what the show will have in store when it premieres on AMC this November. Check out a few behind the scenes photographs and the full interview with Vince Gilligan below.
