Turns out he’s the secret weapon
Carson California and TDE rapper, AB-Soul appeared on New York’s Hot 97 radio station with Peter Rosenberg to discuss the his upcoming album, These Days…, his five senses, the meaning of Ab-Soul and other things.
During the interview, the self-proclaimed Black Lip Pastor said why he’s anxious the get his debut album out. “I’m a fan of the culture, I just want to add to that, I want to take this thing as far as it can go.”
When asked to give details about his album, Soul said, “Know for sure that it’s a Top Dawg party. It’s definitely a Top Dawg party. I got all the homies from the camp…I definitely got my home team with me. My guy Soundwave, Tae Beast, Skyhe Hutch, Tommy Black, but it’s a few little special guests on there. I don’t know if we—I might have to come back and holla. I might have to come bring them.”
Also, the politically astute MC added that his Stevens Johnson Syndrome, which makes his eyes sensitive to light is the reason for his black lips, has strengthened his five senses. ‘I hear and I got to kind of memorize my steps in a sense.”
A few weeks ago, Ab-Soul released the Action Bronson and Asaad-assisted “Stigmata,” which will be featured on his upcoming album, These Days… The album is slated for a June 24 release.
