An investigation is underway after a man shoots his 62-year-old mother in the back
Police have arrested a 32-year-old Bronx man after he returned to the crime scene of his mother’s shooting. On lookers said the man was calm and making conversation so noone suspected anything. The shooting took place inside the mother, 62-year-old Edith Ragin’s home in her Kipps Bay apartment. The son allegedly pumped a single bullet from a .380 Caliber gun into her back around 9:15 a.m. Friday. He then casually walked her to Bellevue hospital, fled then oddly returned to the scene chatting with neighbors. Police later spotted him in a crowd outside of his mother’s building and took him into custody. Investigators are still trying to wrap their heads around the unusual incident to decipher whether the shooting was accidental. Ragin, who is in stable condition told police she believed her son had fired the weapon. So far no charges have been made. We will be updating more on this story as details become available.
