JR Smith Sixth Man of the YearThere’s clearly going to be some changes on the Knicks this year but it’ll all revolve around whether or not Carmelo Anthony decides to stay.

Former Sixth Man of the Year, JR Smith however knows one thing for certain, he’s not riding the bench anymore.  A fan declared he would win the award again this upcoming season but JR made it clear the pine is no longer his home.

The Knicks are announcing their new head coach, Derek Fisher today so surely Smith hasn’t spoken with him yet.  He may have had a conversation with Phil Jackson however and Phil will definitely be an overseer to first-time coach Fisher.  Personally I think Smith is more effective coming off the bench.  Even though some players are good, they’re better as the spark plug with the second unit.  We’ll see what happens with the Knicks.
