If you ever wanted an extra chill Hip-Hop song with a Pharcyde video feel to accompany it, mixed in with some NBA Jam body to head proportions, you’re in luck. If you’ve never had such an oddly specific desire, you’re still in luck. The Florida emcee, Knytro, drops off the visuals for the “My Motive (Movement).” His energetic voice ironically complements the smooth production as he expresses his love of the game through clever metaphors. It’s this interesting mix that makes him an asset to watch under Chase & Status’ MTA Records (EMI/Virgin).
When I first watched the video, the inner DBZ fan in me immediately pictured King Kai’s planet as if it were shot by vintage Bad Boy Records. Why isn’t that a video though? “My Motive” comes off of Knytro’s The Griffin EP, which you can download HERE.
