Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s “Stevie J” or Steven Jones as he is known within the judicial circuit has been arrested for failing to pay over $1 million dollars in child support for his two children with music producer Carol Bennett. He was arrested Monday night at his Atlanta home, in regards to a 1999 order from the New York County Family Court ordering him to pay $6,608 a month in child support a sum that was raised to $8,557 a month in 2011.He has been charged with failure to pay child support a charge with carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
According to reports, his current tab is up to $1,107,412 an amount that Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara notes within the arrest announcement that Jordan failed to pay while earning “substantial income from his participation in a reality television show.” Which seems reasonable considering that Jordan was paid $27,000 a month starting in 2012.
