Big Sean was Celebrity Principal for a Day
G.O.O.D.’s Big Sean made a lot of high school kids really happy on Thursday when he took over Bates Academy in Detroit as “Celebrity Principal for a Day.” The rapper helped recognize students for improving their attendance and winning Get Schooled and Viacom’s Detroit Attendance Challenge. The students greeted the rapper with open arms, signs and a special cheer as he arrived with his mother Myra. Sean who graduated with a 3.6 gpa shared his thoughts on visiting Bates Academy, “It’s just cool to come back and just see the kids so excited and it all be for a good cause.” Big Sean freestyled as well as shared some advice with the kids during a Q&A with Sway. “The best way to study is with your homies,” said the rapper who also gave out hugs. Sean also advised the students not to study with friends who weren’t so smart, for a lack of better words. This is the second time the rapper has served as “Principal for a Day” and probably won’t be the last. Sean also visited students at Lincoln High School in 2012.
