The list just keeps getting awesome-er.
Last month Warner Bros. gave us the official title, logo and cast members for the upcoming DC Comics blockbuster, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Well, now we have another name to add to that star-studded list – Jason Momoa.
Momoa who’s best known for his portrayal of “Khal Drogo” the warlord from the HBO hit series, Game of Thrones, is reportedly casted to play the mighty King of Atlantis, “Aquaman”. While there has been talk over the past months of the Hawaiian-born actor’s involvement in the film, rumors were that he’d play Superman’s archenemies “Doomsday” or Justice League veteran “Martian Manhunter”. The folks over at HitFix seem pretty certain that Momoa will play the King of the Seven Seas:
While Warner Bros. hasn’t made that announcement officially yet, HitFix can confirm that he will be playing the part, and that Zack Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon.
Whether these “designs for the character” will include a modern take on Aquaman’s iconic green and orange tights, or if Momoa will go blonde for the role is uncertain — but apparently his role will be a minuscule one, with him scold Superman for the damage he caused the Indian Ocean in the Man of Steel, film according to HitFix.
His cameo will help set up the upcoming Justice League movie which is slated for May 2017, which will also feature Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, and Gal Gadot as Superman, Batman, Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman respectively, amongst several other Man of Steel returnees.
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for a May 6, 2016 release. Check back with The Source as new information becomes available.
