Two-time National Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw threw a no-hitter against the hard hitting Colorado Rockies last night in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers’ ace threw 15 strikeouts which tied Warren Spahn’s record set in 1960 for the most by a lefty in a no-hitter and is third-most in no-hitter since 1900. Nolan Ryan was the only person to top that when he threw 17 strikeouts in 1973 and 16 strikeouts in 1991. “This is pretty special,” Kershaw said after the game.
“I will remember this forever.”
It was the 22nd no hitter in Dodger franchise history and 12th in the city of Los Angeles. The Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 8-0.
