The Philly rap artist brings the heat with features from The Game, Jadakiss, Waka Flocka Flame, Freeway, Jim Jones, Trae Da Truth, StarrZ, Spade-O, and more.
Gillie Da Kid (Figga Gang Ent.) dropped his highly anticipated King Of Philly 3 (KOP) mixtape yesterday – a masterpiece follow-up to his hugely successful King Of Philly 2 mixtape released last year. Gillie teamed up with the likes of The Game, Jadakiss, Waka Flocka Flame, Jim Jones, Freeway, Trae Da Truth, StarrZ, Spade-O, and more for this undeniable piece of art, featuring hit maker production from Sonny Digital, Mannie Fresh, Coney Gurl, Batman aka “Rouge,” and B-Do.
Leading up to the release, Gillie gained attention with his “King Me” and “Jungle” videos, garnering the North Philly native a massive online following and digital buzz in the industry. “KOP3 is my best work to date. As far as creativity, I stepped it up on this one,” explains Gillie Da Kid. “It’s more like an album; this mixtape is better than all of the other albums that came out this year. Bottom Line…I’m Winnin! I’m all about bringing talent back to this watered down game. Gillie decided to release the first visual off of his self titled mixtape King Of Philly 3 as well, which can be viewed below.
Gillie has set the bar high for independent artists working to put out music on their own. The hard working artist, whose music has been co-signed by none other than the previous King of Philly Will Smith, continues to grind out hits in the studio ahead of his forthcoming album titled Welcome To Gilladelphia. Download the mixtape above and be on the lookout for the album later this year.
