Last night at NYC’s Yotel Hotel, a press conference for the 2nd annual Global Spin Awards took place. The evening was hosted by founder of the Global Spin Awards, Shawn Prez and featured a powerful group of individuals in the Hip-Hop industry on the panel. Executive Vice President of Def Jam, Shawn Pecas, DJ Drama, DJ Grandmaster Flash, DJ Scratch and Sway Calloway shared with the press in attendance their views on the current state of DJs, their come up in the industry, and their appreciation for the DJ and the Global Spin Awards. During the live streamed press conference, the panel presented the 2013 nominees and honorees for the upcoming award show.
The official date and location for the award show will be November 19, 2013 at the NY Times Center . The event will honor the biggest DJs in each region,nationwide and International. This year the Global Spin Awards will honor two of the most iconic DJs to ever touch the turntables, Kid Capri and Marly Marl. The popular MTV VJ, Sway Calloway will be hosting once again the Black Tie event.
