DENVER (Reuters) – Three people were wounded in a shooting in the parking lot of an amphitheater in Colorado after a concert headlined by American rapper Nas, the Jefferson County sheriff’s office said early on Friday morning.

No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting outside the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, near Denver, and the park area remained closed, the sheriff’s office said in a series of Twitter messages.

“Gunshot victims from Red Rocks Park have been transported to area hospitals. Sketchy info about at-large suspect, search under way,” the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office and Denver police said on Twitter three shooting victims were found in a white sport utility vehicle in Denver, about 15 miles from the amphitheatre. The circumstances and the extent of the injuries were unclear.

Red Rocks Amphitheater is an outdoor concert venue set among red sandstone outcroppings in the foothills west of Denver.

The Beatles played there in their first U.S. tour in 1964. The theater was closed to rock acts for a five-year period in the 1970s following a riot during a concert by the English rock band Jethro Tull.
