Moe Rock has had years of experience as an international music producer. Now a CEO of the rising NowHipHop.com, Moe Rock’s buzzing site features the latest in the music scene.

He recently caught up with The Source and gave us an inside look into the buzzing brand and the opportunities the platform is creating in the industry.

Check It Out

The Source: How long have you been involved with the music industry?

Moe Rock: I have been involved with the business for about ten years now. I started as an intern at a radio station as a teenager and brick by brick grew from that.

The Source: Where did the inspiration to found Now Hip Hop come from?

Moe Rock: The main inspiration arose because I have always been a fan of indie music because of the love and heart you can feel from it. But, there seems to be a compromise of integrity that happens with some artists that go mainstream. It always upset me when an amazing artist that had such authentic music did not get the same exposure as what we call in the business “cookie cutter” artists. I am motivated by the talented yet unknown artists and the fact that we can give them a platform with opportunities.

Moe Rock: The biggest milestone thus far is becoming one of the top twelve thousand ranked websites in the U.S according to Alexa because well, people have opinions but numbers don’t. After that, it is our expansion into print and the launch of our record label. Our future has big things in store for us as our main focus is going to be to be on the cutting edge of technology. In truth, I see us as being a technology company just as much as a music company especially with the upcoming announcements we will be making.

The Source: There are a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs who will be reading this—many of them trying to find success. What advice would you give them?

Moe Rock: Everyone’s journey is different but the best general advice I can give is to study the greats and become greater.

The Source: What kind of artist do you look for when you choose who to work with?

Moe Rock: I only want to work with artists who have a long-term vision in mind. I don’t work with artists who want to get 15 minutes of fame and feel satisfied with that. But I’d rather work with artists that have a vision of longevity.

The Source: Where can people find more information about NowHipHop and other projects you are involved with?
