Although we’ve never covered a release by the London production collective YOGI, aspects of their sound – including electronic, dubstep, and trap music – are so well cooked into a hard-hitting audible gumbo that it’s something that needed to be on The Source.
The British production outfit have already officially signed to both Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment and Skrillex’s OWSLA, and they have released some killer music in the midst of it all. Two standouts, both of which have been billed as “singles,” include the brooding “Christian Bale” (of which Casey Veggies appears on the vocal version of [it’s the one we care most about]) and the swaggering club hit “Burial,” which features guest rapper (and our former cover man) Pusha T.
The two records alone have boosted Yogi’s SoundCloud profile by more than half-a-million plays.
It’s always really exciting to see artists such as this, so be on the lookout for new music as we promise to spotlight them from here on out. Peep the two tracks below and enjoy.
