Lebron James, Clippers, Donald Sterling,2014 free agency… Enough said.

One of the pieces fell in the domino effect that is 2014 free agency.  LeBron James’ agent, Rich Paul, has informed the Miami Heat of his client’s decision to exercise the early termination option on his contract and become a free agent on July 1.  News was first reported by ESPN.

Now before rival teams jump for joy, this does not mean James will be leaving the Heat, it just opens up more options.  The weight now falls on Heat president Pat Riley.  It’s up to him to bring in key pieces to join LeBron in Miami as well as convincing the Big 3 to take less money like he did in 2010.

In the meantime teams like the Lakers, Bulls, Rockets and Mavericks are waiting on the sideline to swoop in.
