Whut up Doe! Rapper, Rick Ross may have just learned how real the “No Fly Zone” is. If you don’t know anything about Detroit, you need to know that they are serious in the D!  The “No Fly Zone” has been an urban legend in the hood. What is the “No Fly Zone?”  Basically, it is alleged that you have to pay to play in Detroit. You can’t come to the city and make $100,000 off their folks by doing a show and then not show love for the city by spending some money in the city or putting some of the local artist “on.” It’s been alleged that if you don’t contact honorary “Mayor of Detroit City”, Trick Trick and make some kind of arrangement then your show may just get shut down.

Christian Mathis (born November 9, 1973), better known by his stage name TrickTrick, is a Detroit rap artist and part of the Goon Squad. It is alleged that  Trick Trick and he Goon Squad met Ross at the service entrance of Detroit’s Chene Park Amphitheatre when he arrived for his headline spot on the Hot 107.5 FM Summer Jamz 17 show on Saturday night, June 21. Ross canceled the performance and tweeted that, “Luv #Detroit I wuz ready to killm 2nite, heard it wuz a peace protest with picket signs and locked gates haa.” The show went on as scheduled with other performers, including B.o.B., A$AP Ferg, Scarface and others. Hot 107’s website claimed the incident was part of a Trick Trick’s “No Fly Zone” campaign, led by his new single and a verse that demands out-of-town rappers get “clearance” from Trick Trick, who’s proclaimed himself the “Mayor of Detroit City,” to perform.

Trick Trick has had no on the record comment and is directing people to watch his video for single “No Fly Zone.” Cheap snapbacks
