Yesterday, some of this year’s 2014 NBA draftees took a trip downtown to PS 111 in Manhattan to conduct a NBA Fit Clinic promoting the Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign. As a part of the program the NBA is also teaming together to end hunger in New York City while promoting healthy activity among children. With Bob Lanier, Mayor Bill de Blasio and Felipe Lopez delivering inspiring messages to the youths on reaching goals and striving to be the best, the draftees capped off the day putting kids through various activities.
Some of the various draftees who took part in these activities were Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker and Marcus Smart and through these activities they delivered the message that being active is important but also fun. The kids participated in activities such as jump rope and relay races which encouraged playing together and an overall healthy lifestyle.
