Theres a a Time and place to save face

Last night (7/4) Kanye West  took the stage in London, England for this year’s Wireless Festival.  The three day music fest, which takes place in both London & Birmingham was set to feature West, Outkast, Drake and many many other big times acts.  Unfortunately Drake has been forced to cancel his two shows due to medical illness, with Kanye performing an extra day in London in place of the sick Canadian.

The question now is will people still want to attend?  Many different outlets including UK publication The Daily Mail are reporting that West was heavily booed during a  ”20 minute rant” on stage and that “hordes of people” began to leave after the booing started.  Fans are familiar with Kanye’s frequent “rants” over the past few years, especially during last years Yeezus tour, so much so that  it’s almost become a signature move.  However it’s a whole other ballgame to go on a long one at a festival, especially one in a place like the UK, an area known for not having patience for “bullocks” or bullshit.

In the video above , provided by Link Up Tv you can hear a portion of the “visionary stream of consciousness” (as West calls his rants) in which he goes on about many thing including his struggles with fashion brands. He makes sure to note that he’s not rallying against Nike or Gucci co. , just the idea that their potenial denial or resistance to West is rooted in racism and classism.  He even makes a remark seemingly referring to the  Air Yeezy release, saying

Remember  how hard it was to get the Nikes, that wasn’t my fault, they try to control yall they try to control me

You can hear the booing really begin around the 13 minute mark of the video, but from this vantage point it didn’t sound that strong.

According to NME this was his setlist

‘Black Skinhead’
I Don’t Like’
‘Mercy’
‘Cold’
‘Clique’
‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing’
‘New Slaves’
‘Power’
‘Stronger’
‘Runaway’
‘Run This Town’
‘Diamonds From Sierra Leone’
‘Heartless’
‘All Falls Down’
‘Touch The Sky’
‘Run This Town’
‘Good Life’
‘Bound 2′
‘Blood On The Leaves’

As to how the rest of the show was was and what songs he performed we are not yea sure, but we will keep you in the loop on that and the upcoming Drake replacement show later tonight (7/5).  A surprise 3rd show added into the mix from a highly preppared pefrectionist like Kanye West is sure to bring some surprises.

Overall when he ended the performance the crowd seemed to cheer and as far as rants go the portion in this video is fairly concise and tame, and the set and visuals look CRAZY.
