MC Serch’s former 3rd Bass partner pleads guilty to not paying taxes in an Albany courtroom

Peter Nash, also known as “Prime Minister Pete Nice” of famed 90s Hip Hop trio 3rd Bass, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal tax fraud last week to not paying his taxes in an Albany County courtroom.

Albany County’s District Attorney reported that Nash had not paid taxes in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Nash must pay back $13K in state back taxes, penalties, and interest. He was also placed on three years probation for his offense.

3rd Bass is mostly known for their classic debut The Cactus album, which included the hits “Steppin’ To The Am” and “Gasface”. The follow up single to their second album, “Pop Goes The Weasel”, shot to the pole position of the US Billboard rap charts.

After retiring, Pete Nice became a baseball historian, opening up a memorabilia shop in Cooperstown, New York.

Earlier this year, a judge in NJ ordered Nash to pay a whopping $260K to an auction house for a breached contract.
