Raven’s will need to find a way to win without their best player until week 3

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice will be suspended for the first two games of the NFL season.  The suspension stems from Rice’s recent incident involving an alleged assault he made on his now wife (they married shortly after the incident), and the subsequent legal process that followed.

Although Rice pled not guilty and avoided trial, under the NFL’s personal conduct policy, they can suspend a player even if he is not charged or convicted of a crime.  The suspension might end up having a huge impact although it’s only two game since the Ravens first two games are against NFC North division rivals.

Rice can return September 12th, the day after the teams second game, a Thursday Night Football outing against their biggest rival the Pittsburg Steelers.
