A decapitated man was found in the woods of Michigan Park.  The police attempted to arrest the suspect. The suspect tried to outrun the police but had a car crash instead and then killed himself. Police found him in the driver’s seat, dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.  In the trunk of the suspects crashed car  was the body of a teenage woman who was eight months pregnant. An autopsy determined that she had been strangled to death.

In the suspect’s home, police found over 40 guns, hundreds of rounds of ammo, machetes, knives and other weapons.  They also found property belonging to both Oppenneer and Slocum as well as restraints indicating that the suspect held the pregnant teen, in captivity there for a period of time before he murdered her

Upon law enforcement investigation, they discovered these murders all started with a sex -for- money ad posted on Craigslist.

While executing a search warrant on the deceased pregnant woman’s computer, police found e-mail exchanges with a local man named Brady Oestrike. The e-mails -which originated with a Craigslist post written by one of the victims – detailed plans for the 31-year-old Oestrike to meet the couple at a park — the same park where the headless body was found — and pay them for sex.

The police learned that the murder suspect often traveled to different states; leaving the thought that he may have committed other murders in these states and there be many other bodies that haven’t been found yet.
