It’s hot outside but that doesn’t mean you can’t throw a rooftop party with some new music. For his new single, Black Milk channels different aspects of Detroit–from the bouncy funk prevalent in its diverse music scene to the rebellious corner boy mentality. The most fascinating part of this track comes in the juxtaposition of what matters to the locals who Black Milk portrays. They don’t seem to care about shooting innocent bystanders and smoking that loud in public, but they do care about whipping big trucks to get the hunnies and getting their kicks dirty in the club.

There’s a good chance that this single will be on his new album, If There’s A Hell Below, set to drop this year. You can catch Black Milk on tour doing live beat sets in the states and performing with a live band in Europe this month. Get your tickets HERE.

And if you didn’t know, Detroit is facing a lot of issues that stem from its economic downturn like a lack of running water for residents. You can do your part to help our own citizens HERE. If we’re going to aid others around the world, let’s not forget about our own country, too.
