Patrick Peterson took to his Twitter account to announce he and the Arizona Cardinals agreed to a mega five-year, $70 million contract extension with $48 million guaranteed. The deal will make Peterson the highest paid cornerback in the league, which of course made someone not too happy.
Everyone knows that Seattle Seahawks CB Richard Sherman considers himself the best corner in the league and now Peterson’s extension surpasses both his (four years, $56 million) and Cleveland Browns CB Joe Haden (five years, $68 million). Sherman took to his Twitter account to indirectly say how he feels about the deal which led to shots thrown between he and Peterson.
Happy to announce my 5 year extension with @AZCardinals! $70M and $48M Guaranteed!! #AZCardinals #P2Nation #YearOfTheCardinal

Richard Sherman and Patrick Peterson combined to allow 8 touchdown passes in 2013. Peterson gave up seven of those.
