All good things must come to an end

Football season has just begun and so far, some of the players have suffered injuries so far and NY Giants running back David Wilson have suffered the most injures in the neck. Just one day after the Hall Of Fame Game against the Buffalo Bills, Wilson made the announcement that he would no longer play football because of his second neck injury and also his doctor advised him not to play this time around.

He suffered his first neck injury back in 2013 and had to get surgery but during training camp that he was cleared. The second time around during camp, he ended up getting a burner in which cases is never good to have. He went to see his doctor and he gave him the results that ultimately changed him forever.

Here is what he said about accomplishing his football dreams and walking away from the sport:

“I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me, or pity me, I lived my dream. A lot of people only get to dream their dream. I lived that dream. Now I have a chance to dream another dream and live that, too.”

“I’m thankful that I can literally walk away from the game and that I am healthy and capable of doing the same things I have done all my life, except play football, I always try to find the positive in everything, This morning when I saw Dr. Cammisa and Dr. Warren, I didn’t hear what I wanted to hear, but I expected that what they told me could be a possibility. I had played out both scenarios in my mind. I prayed this morning before I went to see them that they would tell me what God would tell me. He put His answer in them to relay to me.”

Just at 23 years old, he accomplished so much in his career by having 44 rushing attempts for 146 yards and a touchdown. He is a true example of what it means to never give as he always have a smile on his face.
