According to John Wall, Team USA already had their rosters in mind prior to cuts

It was evident the point guard pool at this year’s Team USA mini-camp was pretty crowded especially with the return of Derrick Rose but despite the former MVP back on the Harwood, John Wall insist the roster was already formed. Last week, the former No. 1 overall pick was cut along with his teammate Bradley Beal and Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap. When asked by CSN Washington what he thought about the 15-man roster going forward he replied:

Nah, I don’t think so, but it’s a part of the game. I’m just happy to have the opportunity to be there and represent my country. I wish them the best of luck and hope they can win gold.” “I’ve been (around) for four years in a row. I think that’s enough time. Everybody had the same fair amount of time as far as being (in Las Vegas) and playing. I think [Team USA] already had kind of in their mind what they wanted to do and what decisions they were going (to make).”

Now, the final 12-man roster has yet to be announced considering the few “hiccups” the squad has had to endure these past few weeks but you can still expect the team to be loaded with talent. Team USA take on Dominican Republic on August 20, 2013 and also Puerto Rico on August 22, 2014 at Madison Square Garden.

Drew can’t seem to wrap his mind around the fact John Wall was cut, even though John Wall is clearly a great fit for Team USA. If you disagree, “@” him on Twitter at @Drewtheabstract
