Villanova graduate, is bringing his tragedy to triumph story to the big screen.

Tony Chennault made his family and hometown proud by receiving a scholarship to play basketball at Wake Forest.  However, duringhis second season, his mom’s health began to fade and everything started crashing around him.  His older brother Michael was gunned down in a drive by in Olney in May 2012. It appears he was an innocent victim. Then three months later his mother, Crystal Morton died of a heart attack. Now Chennault is putting part of his story on the screen in ‘Chris’ a nine minute short film. It’s dedicated in memory of his brother, and speaks out against violence.

Plot Summary

“Oldhead“, written by Tony Chennault and produced by 267 Productions, is a short film that provides an in-depth look at the urban communities of Philadelphia. “Oldhead‘ is a term used to show respect to an older person who gives wisdom and knowledge to younger generations. In Philadelphia, there are not many oldheads left to guide kids in the right direction. Through making and distributing this film, we aim to bring awareness of what an oldhead really is, and why they are so essential to our urban communities. Writer and director Tony Chennault says, “This movie will make people appreciate the service an oldhead provides for the community.”

Sean, our young protagonist, finds himself at a crossroads. He can either continue to choose life on the streets, or he can choose to turn his life around through the mentorship of his oldhead Bumpy. Deep down, Sean is a good kid who know that Bumpy’s advice and experience can save his life, but he feels he must remain loyal to his friend Kareem. In “Oldhead”, the streets will turn against him and force Sean to choose between the two.

Tony Chennault

Director, writer, and actor for 267 productions. He’s from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and is a Villanova graduate. Tony in charge of day-to-day responsibilities for the company. He won the best director for the ekiah film festival this past year. As a filmmaker Tony have a strong passion for telling stories to help bring awareness and hope to society.

Tom Smith

Tom is from Media Pennsylvania. He is a director, writer, cinematographer, and also does audio.  Tom has been nominated for a Student Academy Award for Best Documentary and Best PA Filmmaker for the last movie he directed. He is a senior at Villanova University majoring in Humanities with minors in Communications and Theology.  He hopes to make a difference in the world by using film to bring awareness to social issues.

Rob Jennings

Rob’s a cinematographer, graphic designer and assistant editor. Previous work includes cinematography and editing for the Villanova Social Justice Documentary, “Rise and Shine”, as well as “Frental” and several other student films. He’s excited to take the next step with the release of “Oldhead” and the launch of 267 Productions.

Alex Ruane is a recent graduate of Villanova University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Communication. He is relatively new to the field of production and filmmaking but learning quickly. His first film “Frental” (made in collaboration with Rob Jennings, another member of 267 productions) placed first in the Villanova based Ekiah Film Festival and will be submitted to numerous other festivals in the near future. Alex’s strengths include writing, acting, and post-production editing.
