When you’re a dating a Kardashian the media spotlight is all consuming and unavoidable. Everything you say or do is instantly under the microscope of scrutiny by naysayers and media outlets, and if you don’t believe that just ask French Montana.
A few days ago Billboard published an article in which French spoke on his relationship with Khloe Kardashian, and was quoted as saying “I want to capitalize on it. I’ll get a fan base from everywhere. I just hope I’ll be able to connect with everything that’s going on.” While many have assumed from it’s inception, that the nature of French’s relationship with the Kardashian was to jet stream off the reality star’s fame, he sat down with Access Hollywood to set the record straight.
“I was so mad about that,” the South Bronx denizen told the hosts when the Billboard article was brought up. “If I’m with somebody, I’m not with them for that reason,” a visibly uncomfortable Montana explained. While the rapper has been steadily ascending in prominence within the rap scene for years, he explained that this new spotlight he’s finding himself under is at times “too much pressure” and that he hates “being on camera” and “the commotion”.
Khloe responded on Twitter following the release of the Billboard article saying “It’s amusing to me that Y’all think I don’t see it. I was the first one to see it. I just don’t care.” So it seems, the couple is unfazed by the controversy and putting it behind them.
