Happy 14th anniversary to the movie Bring It On
Today marks the 14th anniversary of the classic movie, Bring It On that starred Gabrielle Union, Kirsten Dunst, and R&B group Blaque. The movie is about high school senior Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst), who inherits the position of captain on her high school’s cheerleading squad and attempts to lead her team to a sixth national title until she discovers that her routines are stolen. The original team captain Isis (Union) feels that she wants payback and challenges them to a cheer off.
This movie made cheerleading look fun, speaking from experience, it’s not as easy as it looks and it totally dominated the early 2000′s. It became a cult favorite among high school students and it was often compared to the other teen movie, Clueless. The movie spawned four sequels Bring It On Again, Bring It On: All Or Nothing, Bring It On: In It To Win It, and Bring It On: Fight To The Finish, but it didn’t live up to the hype like the original did. This movie will forever go down in history.
