Thankfully the situation was handled quickly
Earlier today (8/25 9:31 am) an “active shooter” situation was reported via The U.S. Army Fort Lee Twitter page
Active shooter incident reported at CASCOM HQ, Bldg. 5020. All personnel enact active shooter protocols immediately. Post on lockdown.

The situation is now reportedly (8/25 12:25 pm est) under control. Details about what exactly went down are still limited however in a statement the U.S. Army released they said this:
“Early reports indicate the soldier turned the weapon on herself and fired one shot, injuring herself,” the statement said. “The soldier was transported to Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. Her condition is not known at this time.”
Fort Lee is a very active military base, (meaning there are lot’s of soldiers coming and going for different types of training) and is located about 30 miles outside of Pittsburg, VA.
