Uh oh, Vikings fans

The Minnesota Vikings haven’t experienced real success in quite some time.  It’s bad enough they’ve struggled to come up with a consistently good starting quarterback since Dante Culpepper left–for their division rival Lions nonetheless–but they’re currently in a division with three teams who could, in all fairness, find themselves in the NFC Championship Game at the end of the season.

That being said, the silver lining the Vikings have–and have had for the past few years–is Adrian Peterson, who is arguably the best running back in the NFL.  He’s two seasons removed from falling just short of breaking the single season rushing yard record after jumping back into full contact action just 8 months following surgery to repair his torn ACL.  He’s a brute of a player, and quite honestly he’s the main reason the Vikings have a leg to stand on offensively.

However, things don’t seem to be all rosy in Minnesota with Peterson.  Jerry Jones recently went on Outside The Lines and revealed a telephone conversation he had had with Peterson, who allegedly told him that he’d love to come play for him in Dallas.  This isn’t as bad as Culpepper–Cowboys play in an entirely different division–but its never good when your best player is on the phone with another team’s owner pitching himself.  It doesn’t even sound right.  You can check out more details from the conversation by watching the Outside The Lines segment here, and, if you’re a Vikings fan, get to crossing those fingers, because Jerry Jones said he’ll “see what he can do about that”.  We’re talking about one of the richest men in the league.
