Champ Bailey was cut by the New Orleans Saints on Saturday. The move was made to meet the NFL’s mandated 53-man regular season roster
A 15-year NFL veteran, Bailey’s cut was made just five months after he was released by AFC Champions Denver Broncos in March. After being cut by Denver, the 36-year-old signed a two-year, $7 million deal with the Saints—$500,000 of that contract was guaranteed this year.
A seventh overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft, Bailey is a12-time Pro Bowler. He’s has played for the Washington Redskins, Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints.
