ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reports that while NBA free-agent Ray Allen is still deciding on his NBA playing plans for next season, the LA Clippers and San Antonio Spurs have emerged as suitors
Widely believed around the league that Allen would sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers after LeBron James re-joined the team earlier this summer, has also considered retirement.
If Allen were to consider the Clippers, he does have a familiarity with their system. Allen played for current Clippers head coach Doc Rivers; they won an NBA Championship in 2008 when Rivers coached Boston and Allen was the teams’ starting two-guard. The reigning NBA Champion, the San Antonio Spurs, could accommodate Allen, with one final roster spot remaining.
