The gift that keeps on giving.

There are some albums that will never go unspoken and Illmatic is one of them. Earlier this year, on the 20th anniversary of one of hip-hop’s most legendary albums, Nas announced a new documentary and tour celebrating the release. This week, a new trailer for the documentary, to be aired to audiences nationwide on tour, was released. The trailer reveals cameos from both of Nas’s parents, insight from Nas and performance footage. The film also features commentary from other artists detailing the impact of the album. In the trailer, Pharrell states “llmatic is one of those transformative moments in hip-hop”

The film will be played at every stop on Nas’s Time Is Illmatic tour along with a performance of the entire album. The film will also be making its Brooklyn debut, which is also the first screening of the film since it’s debut at The Tribeca Film Festival, during the upcoming Source360 cultural event September 19-21st.
