CeeLo Green was charged with a felony drug charge in October 2013, by a woman who claims the singer slipped her an ecstasy drug on a date the year prior. The woman claims to have woken up the next morning next to him in bed unable to recollect the events of the night. His attorney has stated the sex between the Grammy Award winning artist and the woman was consensual. This Friday, CeeLo pleaded no contest to the felony drug charge and took to twitter to voice his opinion.
In posts which have since been deleted from the artist’s account, CeeLo revealed a very controversial opinion about rape.
”If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously. People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!”

CeeLo added that his no contest plea wasn’t an admission of guilt, and went on to cast doubt on the claims made against him.
”So if I TRIED but did NOT succeed but the person said I DID then what really happened?”— CeeLo Green (@CeeLoGreen) September 1, 2014
After deleting the tweets, CeeLo took to twitter again to apologize and claim that his tweets were taken ” So far out of context”
“I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me through this. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank You.” — CeeLo Green (@CeeLoGreen) September 1, 2014
CeeLo was sentenced to three years of formal probation and 45 days of community service following his no contest plea.
