The Source recognizes rapper Nitty Scott.
For today’s edition of Woman Crush Wednesday, we salute rapper Nitty Scott, best summed up in three words: raw, honest, and beautiful. Influenced by the rap groups A Tribe Called Quest, Wu-Tang Clan, and Slum Village, the Brooklyn native started her career when she was just 17 years old. Her style has since been compared to fellow rappers MC Lyte, Ladybug Mecca (from Digable Plants), Lauryn Hill, and Big Pun.
Nitty Scott is our #WCW because not only is she beautiful and talented, but she holds her own on the mic, and isn’t afraid to go toe to toe with the guys. She is featured on singer Ke Ke Wyatt‘s EP, Ke’Ke and recently dropped her album, The Art Of Chill.
You can also catch Ms. Scott performing at The Source 360 Pass The Mic: Ladies First – A Night Of Women Emcees on September 19, at BAM Cafe in Brooklyn. Find out more information on Pass The Mic: Ladies First – A Night Of Women Emcees and several of our other showcases here.
Be sure to follow this fierce femcee on Instagram and Twitter at @NittyScottMC.
Also, don’t forget, you can catch The Wu-Tang Clan, Dipset, Curren$y, Lil Kim, Dom Kennedy and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony at the #SOURCE360 Concert at The Barclays Center on Sept. 20. Get your tickets here, before they’re sold out.
