This is pretty upsetting.

If you were expecting another installment in the Iron Man film series, we’ve got some bad news for you. While Robert Downey Jr. will return to the the role of Tony Starks/Iron Man in the next two Avengers films, its appears that there are no plans for an Iron Man 4 film according to an interview Variety had with Downey at the Toronto International Film Festival. The actor said, “There isn’t one in the pipe.” “No. There’s no plan for a fourth ‘Iron Man.’”

Downey who’s currently promoting his upcoming film “The Judge” which costars Robert Duvall, also weighed in on if he’d “allow” another actor to replace him in the Iron Man film series. “I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I’m casting director for Marvel,” he said with a laugh.

Downey signed with Marvel-Disney to star in The Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as its 2018 sequel, with the former set to release on May 1, 2015 which just concluded filming in the U.K.
