Retired police commander admits selling drugs, attempted murder, and befriending a known cop killer

Corey Pegeus, a retired commander of the NYPD, recently admitted to several crimes he committed in his past before becoming an officer on the Hip Hop inspired talk series The Combat Jack Show.

Pegeus, who retired last April and receives a $135K tax-free pension, admitted to selling crack and even planning to kill a rival drug dealer on an August 13th podcast of the show.

If some think that’s bad enough, Pegeus even kept his friendships with drug kingpin Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff and convicted cop killer David McClary a secret from his pals on the force for over two decades. McClary was convicted of the 1986 execution style killing of Officer Ed Byrnes in Jamaica, Queens and McGriff is currently serving life without the possibility of parole for a 2007 conviction of murder-for-hire, racketeering, and various other federal charges.

Pegeus, 45, cannot be tried for any of these crimes because they are all well past their statutes of limitation.

As for the NYPD, they’re definitely not too happy about Pegeus’ revelations. “I was shocked and disgusted hearing the criminal conduct bragged about,” says Roy Richter of the NYPD Captains Endowment Association. “If true, it is a complete betrayal of the oath and the sacrifice police officers make to society.”
