After a bidding war it’s finally happening, Chris Rock will be putting out his forthcoming movie under Paramount Pictures

It was a long time coming but after a bidding war between different production companies, Paramount has emerged as the highest bidder to have worldwide rights to the upcoming comedy. It is reported that many other film giants such as Fox Searchlight, Lionsgate and Relativity were also in the running.

Directed by Chris Rock, the film “Top Five” will Premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 13th and features a slew of comedic greats in Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld and Kevin Hart. The film stars Chris Rock as “Andre Allen”, who is a comedian working his way to reinvent himself into a more serious actor who is in dying need of another blockbuster hit under his belt. His fiancé played by the beautiful Gabrielle Union, wants to use him to boost her reality TV ratings and his agent played by the funny Kevin Hart will do everything in his power to get him that next ‘Big Thing’. You can also expect, Tracy Morgan, Jay Pharoah, JB Smoove and Cedric the Entertainer to make cameos in the film too. It’s been awhile since we seen Chris Rock in his comedic element, so the anticipation for this film is great.
