President Barack Obama is prepared to order air strikes in order to counteract terrorism.

The President addressed the United States Wednesday evening and emphasized his mission to confront the Islamic State jihadist group that is operating in both Syria and Iraq. “I will not hesitate to take action against ISIL in Syria, as well as Iraq,” said Obama.

Althought President Obama did not specify when and how the U.S. might strike at Islamic State targets in Syria, his counter-terrorism outline calls for assistance from other countries, deployment of 475 more U.S. military personnel, and additional airstrikes in Iraq and ground forces that will battle the insurgent group, ISIS.
