In case you forgot…no one ever really dies.
Pharrell wants all N.E.R.D. fans to know, “there will always be a NERD.” And let the anticipation begin. Wednesday night, during his iTunes Festival performace in London, Pharrell hinted at a new N.E.R.D. album. Along side nerd-mate Shay Haley the two Nerds really pumped some hope into fans. After the performance Haley said:
“It feels good to be back in London. When we released our first album back in 2001 and first crossed the Atlantic, this was the first place to embrace us. You’re gonna like this shit we’re gonna release…”
And of course, Pharrell chimed in :
There will always be an NERD,” he said. “I’m happy to be a nerd; the bullies lost, the nerds win.”
As we keep our fingers crossed, let us dwell on the fact that if N.E.R.D. does in fact drop a new album, it would be the group’s first album since their Nothing album in 2010.
