A perfect game gets even better.
When Rockstar released Grand Theft Auto V last September, it amassed a record-shattering $1 billion within the first three days of its international release for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles. With the impending release of Sony and Microsoft’s next-generation systems, the question that rang throughout the gamer community was whether GTA V would receive a next-gen upgrade. While it was confirmed a few months ago that GTA would in fact be coming to Xbox One and PS4, today a firm release date has been announced, and that is November 18.
While many are weary about buying the same title they’ve already played and beat last year, Rockstar boasts several additions to the newest incarnation. Rockstar explained in a statement that the new rendition “will feature a range of major visual and technical upgrades to make Los Santos and Blaine County more immersive than ever.” According to VG247.com some of the new features and upgrades include:
- New activities.
- New weapons.
- New vehicles.
- Additional wildlife.
- Denser traffic.
- New foliage system.
- Enhanced damage and weather effects.
The game’s radio will receive more than 100 new tracks as well as new DJ mixes, those who preorder will receive $1,000,000 in-game dinero for use within the game’s both single-player and Online modes, with the latter receiving an increased 30 player count.
Rockstar also rewards those who made progress in the old-gen versions of the game. “New, exclusive content also awaits for players returning from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, including rare versions of classic vehicles to collect from across the Grand Theft Auto series such as the Dukes, the Dodo Seaplane and a faster, more maneuverable Blimp; activities, including wildlife photography; and new shooting range challenges, new weapons and more,” according to Rockstar. Returning players can also rest easy knowing that their old-gen characters will in fact be transferable — I guess that “Rockstar cloud server” is actually good for something after all.
Grand Theft Auto V hits PS4 and Xbox One consoles November 18, while PC users will have to wait until January 15, 2015. Enjoy the trailer above.
