Are we still getting the GKMC follow-up?
Kendrick Lamar has kept the world lying in wait since his debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, and “Control” verse, shook up the music world. He’s done verses for several acts, performed at several festivals, and appeared on his labelmates’ albums, but he has saved all new original music for his sophomore album rollout. It appears the time for that has finally come, as several sources, most recently, Hip Hop-N-More, have confirmed the title of the Compton native’s new single, “I”, and report that it will be released next week.
This news comes amid reports that some of Interscope’s upcoming promotion plans were accidentally leaked, revealing the release dates for both Kendrick’s new single, and Gwen Stefani‘s. Watch Loud first reported that Kendrick’s single was on the horizon, but had vague details and what appeared to be a partially incorrect song title.
So far the only details we know about Kendrick’s album is that, according to Top Dawg, it has to come out this year to keep with his 6 album quota, and Clear Channel was granted a super early listen of the coveted project. Hopefully next week will change all that.
