Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Chinese sculptor Wang Ruilin understands the meaning of juxtapose. The combination of animate and inanimate in his sculptures is nothing less than mesmerizing. He currently has a series titled “Dreams” where monumental landscapes are mixed into the anatomy of animals that create an expression that is far beyond surreal. The 29-year old sculptor has recently been a part of ART Beijing this year and claims to have been influenced by the artist Xu Beihong. Ruilin says when creating his works he is digging deep into his heart and excavating “works that originally exist from various experiences.” Check out more of his work on his website.
