Tell Us How You Really Feel Rah
Iggy Azalea‘s rise to fame and popularity has been a fast one, definitely not an overnight happening, but still the intensity and speed with which it occured has forced many to quickly evaluate their own opinion of her. Although the white, Australian born artist never staked claim to being the illest rapper alive or anything of the sort, by nature when you rhyme words over beats people immediately put you in the lane of “rapper” and thus judge you by the same standards they would judge other emcees.
The latest in the “I have an opinion on Iggy Azalea” sweepstakes is none other than female fire spitter, and ex Flipmode Squad capo Rah Digga. On a recent appearance on the ‘ThisIs50 Radio Show’ she had some comments about Nick Young’s girlfriend.
“Iggy Azalea it’s like I can’t get into her, Because it’s just not real to me…There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian Hip Hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me that you’re Gangsta Boo, THAT IT… She’s a beautiful girl..
Although she didn’t say the following comment was directed at Iggy it came amid that conversation and dealt with Nicki Minaj‘s comments.
There’s too many passes being given, like for instance, evebody was mad at Nicki[Minaj] for makin that comment at BET.. When did it become wrong to call out people that don’t write their own rhymes, when did that become a crime? Personally, I don’t consider her Hip Hop. I listen to her album. Everything that I hear on there is everything but that. And I feel like Hip Hop is Hip Hop”
Iggy has seemingly responded via twitter, something she’s been pretty quick to do in general. In fact she tweeted The Source Magazine when we responded to the famed Forbes article that said she was running rap, and accused us of throwing salt, pretty much for just having a fact based opinion, one that wasn’t really that harsh either.
I honestly don’t really mind if I’m described as rap or pop. My passion is purely making music and entertaining.
