Phelps is in hot water once again. There’s a bad swimming joke here somewhere
Michael Phelps is, flat-out, the most decorated Olympian of all-time. His 18 Olympic medals is the highest tally of any Olympic athlete of all-time, not to mention his record 8 Gold medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. However, he’s had a hard time staying out of trouble out of the pool, and for the second time, he’s been arrested for a DUI. According to this TMZ report, Phelps was pulled over after he was caught going 85 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. After he was breathalized, it was discovered that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit and, naturally, he was arrested, and booked for Driving Under the Influence.
10 years ago, Phelps was arrested–in Maryland–for the same charges at the tender age of 19. Two-time offenders of Maryland’s DUI policy can be sentenced to up to two years in prison.
More details as they become available.
